Ensure your ARCangel has CPLD v7 or greater and that the ARCangel is configured (rear-panel DIP switch) as follows:
1. Switch 2 must be Off (serial).
2. Switch 5 must be On (alternate JTAG connection).  
   Please consult your ARCangel documentation for further information.
